Homeschool Planner & Records — Terms of Use
Effective date: October 5, 2026
These terms cover your use of the Homeschool Planner & Records app ("the app", called "Homeschool" on your device), published by Chinese Powered ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies and takes precedence where the two differ; on Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service apply alongside these.
The short version
- The app is a record-keeping tool. You're responsible for following your state's homeschool laws and for the accuracy of your records.
- State requirement summaries are general information, not legal advice.
- Homeschool Pro is a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, or a one-time lifetime unlock, billed by Apple or Google. Cancel a subscription any time in your store account.
- Your records live on your device. We hold no account and can't recover lost data, so keep backups.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, to plan and keep records for your own homeschool. Don't copy, modify, sell, reverse engineer or redistribute the app or its assets, and don't use it in a way that breaks the law or the store's rules.
A record-keeping tool, not legal advice
The app helps you plan lessons and keep attendance, hours and other records. It doesn't file anything with any school district or agency, and it doesn't certify that you meet any requirement. You are responsible for knowing and complying with your state's homeschool laws (or those of wherever you live), for the accuracy and completeness of the records you keep and submit, and for checking reports before you rely on them.
The state requirement summaries and suggested targets in the app are general information gathered from public sources, offered as a starting point. They may be incomplete or out of date, and they are not legal advice. Check the current law (each summary links to a source), and if you need advice, ask a qualified professional or a homeschool legal organization. Every target in the app can be changed.
Homeschool Pro subscriptions and lifetime unlock
- Homeschool Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly auto-renewing subscription and as a one-time lifetime unlock. Prices are shown in the app, in your local currency, before you confirm.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel them in your Apple or Google Play account's subscription settings — "Manage subscription" on the app's More tab opens them.
- Where a free trial is offered (the yearly plan starts with two free weeks), it converts to a paid subscription at the price shown unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Trial eligibility is decided by the store.
- The lifetime unlock is a single purchase with no renewals.
- Pro features (every child, unlimited exports, no ads) apply while the subscription or lifetime unlock is active on your store account. "Restore purchases" in the app re-applies them on another device signed in to the same store account. If Pro ends, your records stay on your device and the free version's limits apply again.
- Billing and receipts are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your payment details.
Refunds
Payments and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, and we can't issue refunds ourselves. Request one from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or from Google Play as described in Google Play's refund help.
Ads
The free version is supported by ads served by Google AdMob: a banner, optional rewarded videos that unlock an export, and occasional full-screen ads. Ads are third-party content; we don't endorse what they advertise. Homeschool Pro removes them. See the Privacy Policy for what the ad SDK collects and how consent works.
Your data stays on your device
The app has no accounts and no cloud storage: your records and photos are stored on your device only. If you delete the app, use "Delete all data", or lose, reset or break the device, the records are gone and we cannot recover them, because we never had them. Make backup files regularly (More › Backup & restore) and keep them somewhere safe and private. Store purchases can always be restored from the store. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
Availability and changes
We may update the app, add, change or remove features, change prices for future purchases, and may stop offering the app or Homeschool Pro altogether. If Homeschool Pro is discontinued, active subscriptions won't renew and the store's refund rules apply to any prepaid period. We'll post material changes to these terms here with a new effective date; continuing to use the app after that means you accept them.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows — including any warranty that it meets a legal requirement, that its calculations, summaries and reports are free of errors, or that it will always be available. We are not liable for lost data, for the consequences of relying on the app's records, summaries or reports (including any decision by a school district, evaluator, state agency or college), or for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the app. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Homeschool Pro in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.
